Google Analytics Review

What is Google Analytics (GA)?

Analytics, as the name implies, is a service you can use to capture and analyze the statistics of your website especially as regards traffic (visitors to your site).
A website is like an online office space where those who are interested in what you do check on you. But unlike the normal (offline) office space, you cannot tell how many people that visit, the kind of activities they perform, what they like or do not like about what you do, how many things they have visited, how long they stay on the site or on individual pages, the countries they come from and more, unless you employ a software to get such stuffs for you. That is what Analytics does for webmasters (owners of websites) and online marketers alike.

How Do You Benefit From This?

There is no doubt that if you knew exactly what is happening to your website from the point of view of its visitors, you will be in a better position to work on your areas of weakness and improve on your areas of strength. You will, for example, know the pages that are performing better than others and be able to fix what needs to be fixed.

How Does Analytics Work?

There are both free and paid (premium) versions of analytics with differing degrees of depth and dynamics with regard to statistics and analysis. Analytics is able to capture and analyze the statistics of each participating website by means of a tracking code or a ‘page tag’, officially known as GATC (Google Analytics Tracking Code). Once you copy this code from your site’s profile in your GA account and paste it on your pages, you are done. All you need to be doing is to be logging in to check the statistics delivered together with their analyses.
